If you are planning to contribute data and you do not already have an
output format, we suggest the following as a model:
"YYYYMMDDHH", "STATION NAME", Temperature, Precipitation, Relative_Humidity,
Wind_Direction, Wind_Speed, Atmospheric_Pressure,
where
"YYYYMMDDHH" is the date and time ("YYYYMMDDHHMM" is good too; let us know
whether it is local time or UTC) and
"STATION NAME" is any name or code that identifies the station uniquely to
your agency.
Here's a sample of two lines from a data file, modified slightly to this
format:
"2001032524","TOBA CAMP (MB)",5.4,4.6,90.4,199.2,8.1,,
"2001032524","SCAR CREEK (MB)",3.6,11.7,99.9,303.8,8.8,,
It doesn't look very human-readable but that is unimportant. If you have
additional parameters, tack them on at the end and let us know what they
are. If you are missing any, please just leave them out between the commas
as above. It is most convenient and efficient for us that all data in one
file be from the same hour. We will need to know if cumulative measurements
like precipitation are reported at the top or bottom of the hour, too. We
will also need to know what all your units are.
